Sirtuins, a family of proteins, help keep the body’s cells on task. They tell skins cells to be skin cells, and if sirtuin doesn’t work so well, we get wrinkles, and organs don’t work as well, including the brain. A molecule called NAD activates sirtuins. We have much less NAD in our 50s than in our 20s. Getting more NAD into the body could be key to living up to 200 years.
