Chloroquine worked well but the study can be confusing. In the study intro it says: 20 out of 36 patients treated showed significant reduction in “virus carriage”. Azithromycin was part of the treatement too. In the study they gave to patients 600mg of hydroxychloroquine daily.
- Then on page 11: “At day 6 post-inclusion, 70% of hydroxychloroquine-treated patients were virologicaly cured comparing with 12.5% in the control group (p= 0.001).”
- Also on page 11: “At day6 post-inclusion, 100% of patients treated with hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin combination were virologicaly cured comparing with 57.1% in patients treated with hydroxychloroquine only, and 12.5% in the control group (p<0.001).”
This study was not peer-reviewed. I could not find it on Pubmed.gov either.
